Community Partners

Swindon RFC is working in partnership with Wiltshire Probation Trust to support the work with ex-offenders. The club works with offenders to provide placement for reparation hours and works closely with the trust to mentor offenders as they re-establish themselves back in to the community. Swindon RFC and the trust are in current discussion about how to extend this relationship and help to potentially delivery training programs together to further enhance the support available to ex-offenders.

As part of our on-going drive around social inclusion, combined with the fact the club is located 250m from the boarders the 3 of the most deprived areas in Swindon. Our team strive to work with the Youth Offending team as well as the Probation service. We aim to provide weekend reparation opportunity for kids with a longer term aim of getting them enthused and involved in sport and the values it promotes. Further discussions are in motion regarding a formal extension and commitment to this program for the 2012-2013 seasons.
