Nova Hreod is a local school specialising in science, mathmatics and copmuting. Pupils age from 11 to 16 year olds.
Swindon RFC has been working with Nova Hreod for a number of years providing coaching services to support their current Physical Education programs and wokring in support of their extra-curricular activities. The Enrichment program operates at luncthimes and from 3.10pm on a Tuesday / Wednesday or Thursdays.
Students are given the opportunity to select different enrichment activities every two terms.
Currently our schools outreach activites are being hindered by our ability to fund full time coaches. As SwindonRFC are able to lower running costs and extend the revenue streams available to us, we will release the extra funds to help build more coachng hours in to our local schools programme.
Swindon RFC's coaching teams have created some special ties with Grange infants school. Ensuring that lessons are in keeping with all of the governments key stage requirements, our staff support the school with coaching hours during the school term and help the school fundraising efforts when attending the local fete's
Swindon RFC is actively pursuing a pro-active outreach programme working with the local charity organisation Swindon Schools Sport Partnership. Through our links with this excellent and dedicated team, Swindon RFC is extending its reach in to the local schools community, promoting the benefits of an active lifestyle to local youngsters. All of the work is followed up with offers of free sessions at the club, with the aim of recruiting and retaining boys and girls for our youth teams.
Sportivate is a nationwide campaign that is capturing the excitement of the London 2012 Games by providing opportunities for teenagers and young adults (aged 14-25) to receive coaching in a sport of their choice and guide them into regular participation within their community. Swindon RFC is wroking via the SportsMaker links in delivering this progam as coaching hours in shools with Swindon School Sports Partnership.
